Key Energy 2025
5 März @ 9:00 – 7 März @ 17:00 Europe/Rimini

KEY – The Energy Transition Expo, IEG´s (Italian Exhibition Group) energy transition and efficiency event of reference in Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean basin, is scheduled to take place from 5th to 7th March at Rimini Expo Centre.
The coming edition, the third stand-alone, will be the biggest ever with more than 1,000 exhibitors in attendance (an increase of over 20% compared to 2024), more than 30% of which will be international.
Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), collaboration with the sector´s leading Associations, and a widespread network of agents around the world, about 350 hosted buyers and delegations from over 50 countries are expected to attend with North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans and Eastern Europe the most represented areas.
KEY25 extends and strengthens its transversal vision, consolidating its role as a reference network for the global energy transition and efficiency community, able to gather together all the sector´s stakeholders, and favour meetings, comparisons and dialogue with the institutions with the aim of creating a system and contributing to the identification of shared solutions to accelerate decarbonisation. The event also provides a privileged opportunity for companies looking for solutions to contain energy costs, rationalise their consumption and reduce the energy and environmental impact of their activities, as well as to learn about the latest innovations and technologies available on the market.
NEW LAYOUT AND EXHIBITION FOCUS
The layout has been completely redesigned to meet the requirements of an ever-growing exhibition without the need for further readjustments in the future. For the first time, the new layout includes a fair balance on both wings of the Expo Centre (East and West) with the first ever opening of the West Entrance in addition to the South and East Entrances. A total of 20 halls (4 more than in 2024) covering 90,000 square metres, divided into seven themed areas each dedicated to a product sector: photovoltaics, wind energy, hydrogen, energy efficiency, energy storage, e-mobility and Sustainable City.
New developments include the expansion of the area reserved for hydrogen in the new HYPE . Hydrogen Power Expo supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells area, jointly organised by Italian Exhibition Group and Hannover Fairs International GmbH (HFI), the Italian branch of Deutsche Messe AG.
Also making its debut will be Su.port – Sustainable Ports for Energy Transition, an exhibition focus devoted to making port docks function on electricity, which is essential to reduce emissions in the maritime sector, promote sustainability in ports, and speed up the development of off-shore wind power, especially floating.
The energy efficiency area in Hall 5 will also feature a space for KEY´s new partner Federcostruzioni, the Confindustria Federation representing the Italian construction industry.
THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
The international conference programme, defined by KEY´s Technical-Scientific Committee, chaired by Professor Gianni Silvestrini, will once again provide a unique opportunity to be constantly informed and up-to-date on the latest news and development trends in the energy market in the presence of the world´s leading experts in the field.
More than 100 events will take place over the three days of the event to offer in-depth analysis and high quality content, touching on all areas, topics and sectors involved in the energy transition: from photovoltaics to agri-voltaics, onshore and offshore wind energy, hydrogen, energy efficiency in the industrial and residential sectors, the redevelopment of real estate, Renewable Energy Communities, the strategic role of energy storage to support the development of renewables, and ports as future energy hubs.
For the first time in the KEY programme, nuclear power and Artificial Intelligence will also be discussed.
The hottest topics will include energy cost control, the enormous opportunities, including employment, that the energy transition offers, the most innovative tools for financing it, and the recovery and reuse of critical resources needed for renewable technologies.
Wednesday 5th March, at 2.30 pm on the Main Stage, under the Lorenzo Cagnoni Dome (South Hall), will see the KEY ENERGY SUMMIT held in the presence of Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister for the Environment and Energy Security. The Althesys study entitled ´Decarbonisation and competitiveness, from European policies to Italian industry. Strategies for a sustainable energy transition aimed at growth´ will be presented, followed by two panel discussions on ´The Associations´ proposals´ between Elettricità Futura, ANIE, Federidroelettrica, ANEV, Italia Solare, Assoesco, FIRE, H2IT, Coordinamento FREE and Motus-E.
THE NEW INNOVATION DISTRICT
For the first time in KEY´s history, the Innovation District will have its own hall (B4) covering about 1,000 m2: a veritable open innovation itinerary that aims to put companies and young enterprises into contact in order to foster product and service innovation and encourage the establishment of new sustainable businesses. The 34 Italian and international green start-ups and innovative SMEs, selected following a Call for Start-ups & Scale-ups, will have the chance to meet companies and potential investors and interact with the main players in the energy supply chain.
Moreover, the Innovation Arena (Hall B4) will host events and presentations on the subject of innovation and the development of new skills at the service of energy transition.
At 5 pm on Wednesday 5th March, the Lorenzo Cagnoni Innovation Award will be given to the three Innovation District start-ups with particularly outstanding projects and to the seven exhibitors with the most cutting-edge projects presented at KEY, one for each of the event´s product sectors.
The Innovation District will also be introducing the Green Jobs & Skills initiative for the first time, aimed at facilitating the encounter between labour supply and demand in order to help bridge the green skills gap.
